Popular Social Media Sites in Trend

Although, there are a lots of social media platforms, only few seem to be popular with everyone. This is so because they managed to create these out of the box apps and websites and then the users keep it rolling. They differ from each other in many ways but what they have common is, creative and engaging content, easy usability and special features. You can find these apps open in "almost" every personal smartphone or laptop. 

1. Instagram

This was launched back in 2010. Only photos and videos can be posted online here and this is its specialty. It was among the first apps to introduce, sharing story for 24 hrs only. The app received few awards too.

The algorithms and programs working behind this platform, show the content based on what you like. Its software recognizes that and recommend content to keep you engaged. Ever wondered why you spend too time on social media?

2. Snapchat

This app is used to share pictures and videos for limited period of time, unlike other apps, you cannot post permanent content here. This is great for active social media users but might not be good for some businesses and products advertisement. Another feature is that messages disappear after some time and the sender will be notified if recipient takes a screenshot. 

Another thing popular here is the effects you can add to pictures and videos here which makes the content fun and interesting. 

3. TikTok

Its been launched a few years ago but is gaining popularity rapidly. All you can post here are short videos but various editing options available like effects, music and all, make them catchy. The app sure is entertaining but seem kind of addictive which maybe the reason for increasing person usage time. 

Most people feel easy to get popular here as entertaining content can be made because of easy editing and as videos are short, one can spend time watching more videos. In my opinion, it seemed highly addictive to me.

4. Whatsapp

This was created back in 2009 and surely gained a lot of popularity. This is not a community app, you can only contact who you know. What made it popular is its features such as , easy signup, verified users, secure encrypted chats, low data usage, sharing documents/files, location and contacts. Online calling is also an option and recently they introduced a status sharing feature.
It got so popular and was purchased by Facebook in 2014.
  

There sure are other social media apps and websites but i chose these because they are hugely popular and have distinct uses, functioning and features from each other. Some latest and popular social media platforms are inspired by them and aren't very distinct. Talking about sites like facebook and twitter, i didn't include them because they aren't as specific as these apps and aren't trending, they have already established themselves.  And i just write what i think, here.
