Using social sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat etc. could be addictive, useless or worthless, embarrassing or upsetting and even reducing self-esteem. Even if that is not the case, one may feel using them, lack of growth and cliché. If you want to unfollow the popular and get out of the herd or just want to try something new, here are few options.

The site describes itself as ' The front page of internet '. This pretty much says what the site is about, its a network of communities and people sharing new content on the site. Its different from conventional social sites in way that the content is not just about themselves, it is not for popularity or show off. And what needs to be popular gets popular by up voting.

This lets people share images and videos. Wikipedia described it to be designed to enable saving and discovery of information on the World Wide Web using images and, on a smaller scale, GIFs and videos, in the form of pinboards. '. Basically, people here share their ideas in form of pinboards.

It is a social networking website with micro-blogging feature. This lets you post anything on your blog and has the capability of customizing posts anyway you like.

It is a professional network site. Everyone here are with their professional identities and can share their professional sides. Companies and employees can connect with each other or can share any professional ideas.

This one is my personal favorite. Such a simple yet versatile idea. Its all about questions and answers. You can ask a question and can get variety of answers and opinions. Knowledge and experiences are shared well. This saves a lot of study, lack of information and other complications. 

6. Behance

This is a Adobe owned website. It is used to share your work, projects or ideas related to other adobe products like Photoshop, graphics and etc.

7. Dribbble

Its about presenting your digital creations and you can see other designer's work too. If your work is good enough you could have a job or you can find the best fit employee for your work.
